Places you will visit
Sulak Canyon
One of the main attractions of Dagestan, formed at the confluence of two rivers in the mountains: the Avar Koisu and the Andian Koisu. The total length of the canyon is 53 kilometers. There are four hydroelectric power plants on the Sulak River. One of them is the largest hydroelectric power plant in the Caucasus — Chirkeyskaya, where one of the tallest arch dams in Russia (232.5 meters) is located. At one time, the canyon was the center of the Caucasian War.
The Khunzakh plateau
A natural wonder that is admired by both locals and tourists. It is located at an altitude of almost 2 km and is cut off by the deepest canyon. The height above sea level varies throughout – the lowest limit is 1,700 m. The length of the attraction is 29 km, and the width is about 10 km. Ancient villages and flood meadows are located on the plateau, and silver waterfalls flow down from its cliffs.
Saltinsky waterfall
The Saltinsky Waterfall is the only underground waterfall in Dagestan. It is located on the outskirts of the village of Salta in the Gunib district.
The waterfall is formed by the Saltinka river, which flows down from the mountains, passes the Kudalinsky Canyon and, almost reaching the village of Salt, "falls" into the canyon. A narrow and winding gorge leads to the waterfall — the Saltinskaya Gorge, which is only 500 m long.
The height of the Saltinsky waterfall is 20 m. The cave has several tiers that you can navigate through.
You can see the waterfall in all its glory during high water: in spring during snowmelt in the mountains, in summer after rains.

Derbent
Located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, Derbent is known for its ancient Naryn-Kala fortress, mangalas, Peter the Great's house, museums and sparkling wine factory. In the vicinity of the city you can see the legendary Soviet ekranoplane "Lun". Derbent is one of the most ancient cities in the world. The first mention of the city dates back to the VI century BC.
Lake Mochokh
Lake Mochokh is a high—altitude lake in Dagestan, located at an altitude of 1,632 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by high mountains and green alpine meadows.
Lake Mochokh was formed as a result of a landslide in 1962-1963. Its dimensions are approximately 1,250 by 500 meters, the average depth is 20 meters, the maximum is up to 60 meters.

Troll Language
The troll's tongue is a white rocky protrusion resembling a tongue. It is located near the village of Goor, in the Shamil district of Dagestan.
There are not one, but four similar protrusions in this area, but the troll's tongue is the longest, about 5 meters at an altitude of 1.7 kilometers above the level of the Caspian Sea. Another name for the Language is Maiden Rock.
